What if your holiday is still almost 2 months away but temperatures keep rising at home? Celebrate a few days off in your own hometown of course! And my beloved Antwerp proves the perfect city to do so. There’s so many great coffee bars, fairs and swimming ponds to keep you busy on a warm Summer day.
My favourite spots to cool down in the city heat? Head towards Noordkasteel, Galgenweel or Boekenberg to tan and take a dip. For great iced coffee I’d suggest Tinsel, Caffènation and Barnini. And always — always — end a warm Summer day in Antwerp on the banks of the Schelde river, whether it be at the floating platform near the cathedral or at the Scheldebocht when you bike towards the port.
